🚚 Shipping Policy for Railway Mode

Shipping plants through the railway involves multiple steps and charges that ensure safe and cost-effective delivery to your destination. At Bangalore Agrico, we provide complete transparency regarding how shipping costs are calculated. Below are the components involved in railway shipping.

📌 Shipping Components & Charges

1️⃣ Farm to Railway Transfer Charges

Once the plants are packed at our farm, they are transported to the railway parcel office.

Two types of transfer charges apply:

  • Shared Transfer Charges → When multiple orders are combined. (Cost-effective)
  • Dedicated Transfer Charges → When a vehicle is reserved exclusively. (Higher)

We aim to use shared transfer whenever possible to reduce your cost.

2️⃣ Railway Coolie (Porter) Charges

Railway parcel handling requires hiring coolies for:

  • Loading at the source station.
  • Unloading at the destination station (optional and paid by customer directly).

Charges are generally calculated per parcel/bag basis.

3️⃣ Railway Parcel Booking Charges

This is the actual fee charged by Indian Railways based on:

  • Weight or volume of your parcel.
  • Distance between source and destination.

These charges are non-negotiable and charged as per Indian Railways tariff.

4️⃣ Miscellaneous / Tips (if applicable)

In certain cases, small additional charges may be incurred such as:

  • Tips for handling during rush hours.
  • Special packing requirements at railway office.

These are charged only if applicable and shown transparently.
